Elevated Voices of Women & Girls of Color in New Philanthropic Investment Strategy

A national funding collaborative focused on women and girls of color sought to reimagine how philanthropy invests in equity and power-building. They needed a shared strategy grounded in research, lived experience, and practical mechanisms for collaboration.

Partnering with the collaborative’s leadership and McKinsey, Northly co-developed the Women and Girls of Color Strategy. We convened a design council of diverse leaders, analyzed funding trends, and created a unified operating model and roadmap to guide implementation.

The resulting strategy mobilized $350 million in new funding and positioned women-of-color leaders as architects of systems-level change. Beyond capital, the effort reshaped how philanthropy aligns values with investment—building a model for equity-driven giving.
