Designing a Centralized Pricing Organization for Clarity and Control

A global consumer brand was preparing for a major enterprise transformation and needed a unified structure to manage pricing operations across its U.S. divisions. Pricing execution—how price decisions flowed from headquarters through systems to customers—was fragmented, inconsistent, and resource-intensive. The company needed a clear operating model that could bring visibility, accountability, and accuracy to one of its most complex processes.

Northly partnered with finance and supply-chain leaders to design a centralized Pricing Operations organization grounded in evidence and insight. Drawing on interviews with more than 100 stakeholders, detailed process mapping, and workload analysis, we identified pain points and redundancies that limited efficiency and created risk. Using these findings, we co-developed a team structure, governance model, and accountability framework that clarified roles, standardized handoffs, and streamlined communication from price setting to customer delivery.

The resulting design unified pricing execution across divisions, improving speed, accuracy, and transparency. It also established a foundation for data-driven decision-making and enterprise-wide consistency ahead of the company’s global systems rollout. By translating evidence into structure, Northly helped the organization strengthen both confidence in its pricing and readiness for future growth.
