Our Story

Northly
began with
a simple
truth:

lasting change
grows out
of lasting
relationships.

Our founding team discovered this working together on complex transformations at other boutique consulting firms and as industry leaders, where our complementary strengths — and a shared conviction that consulting is about people as much as strategy — made us stronger as a team and delivered better outcomes for our clients.

Over more than a decade, we built deep trust and respect for one another as women and professionals. Northly is the firm we created to honor that trust and to help leaders find their own true North: a clear direction, a steady guide through complexity, and the confidence to move forward. Our brand reflects who we are — authentic, collaborative, and focused. We dare to imagine what’s possible, purposeful in moving ideas into action and finding energy in championing leaders through change.

Our Founders

Northly is a women-owned strategy and implementation firm built by four senior leaders who’ve spent their careers driving transformation and impact globally across business and society.

We help leaders and organizations to see clearly, think boldly, and act with purpose – to achieve even bigger things.

Betsy McCallon

Managing Partner

I’ve led organizations through moments of profound change. At Northly, I’m committed to helping leaders do the same — scaling impact while staying true to their values.”

Betsy has 25+ years of global experience driving transformation, advocacy, and systems change across health, consumer goods, and social-impact sectors. As a former CEO, she mobilized international coalitions that secured major policy wins and millions in funding for women’s health and gender equity. She has also led global talent strategies and organizational change for multinational corporations. A seasoned facilitator and executive advisor, Betsy is recognized for aligning diverse stakeholders—from grassroots advocates to senior executives—around shared vision and strategy. At Northly, she brings the energy and clarity needed to help leaders scale impact while staying true to their values.

Uta Michels

Managing Partner

I believe transformation succeeds when strategy is matched with execution — and when leaders are supported to grow alongside the systems they lead.”

Uta has more than 25 years of experience driving global organizational transformations and complex change initiatives. She has led capability-building programs spanning 70+ countries, scaled operations across regions, and built digital and leadership systems that endure. Earlier in her career, she shaped global IT and strategic planning functions for multinational corporations and built a boutique consulting firm focused on organizational development. A long-time advocate for women in leadership, she has also advanced international initiatives for gender equity and mentorship. At Northly, Uta brings her global perspective and passion for building organizations that thrive in complexity.

Petra Miebach

Founding Partner

I've spent my career navigating transformation, charting bold paths, building bridges, and helping people move through change with clarity and purpose.”

Petra Miebach draws on over 30 years of global experience in corporate leadership and consulting to support organizations as they scale their impact. Her background spans operations, supply chain and other corporate functions, along with years of partnering with leaders on complex transformations. Today, Petra leverages her corporate expertise on missions that matter. As a founding partner at Northly, board member of BizLeadhers, a non-profit empowering entrepreneurs through training and mentoring, and advisor to a non-profit, independent school for children with language-based special learning needs, Petra is passionate about helping social impact organizations orient toward their true north, expand their reach, and build the capacity to sustain change.

Rebecca Schumer

Managing Partner

For me, consulting is about turning vision into practice — aligning people, structures, and habits so organizations can carry change forward long after we’re gone.”

Rebecca brings nearly two decades of experience guiding organizations through complex transformation, strategy, and growth. Her work spans corporate and social impact sectors, including engagements with L’Oréal, Pivotal Ventures, the Jim Joseph Foundation, the Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati, and OneTable. She has led enterprise-level initiatives that connect big ideas to viable operating models and build the capabilities and alignment needed to sustain results. Prior to co-founding Northly, Rebecca led people-centered transformation efforts as Vice President at OXYGY, a global consulting firm, founded Greta & Co., a boutique consulting practice grounded in human-centered research and design, and served as Deputy Director of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy. Trained in change management, human-centered design and Lean/Six Sigma, she brings both rigor and empathy to her work — ensuring strategies are practical, sustainable, and grounded in the people who bring them to life.
